EDUCATION: Aaron attended Lincoln Elementary School, Edison Junior High School, and Parker Senior High School in Janesville, WI. Graduated from Parker Senior High School in 1984.
Enlisted in the Delayed Entry Program in 1983 for service in the United States Marine Corps. Departed for the United States Marine Corps Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, CA on August 20, 1984. Graduated from MCRD San Diego, CA with Platoon 3094 on November 30, 1984. Attended Basic Electronics School at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, CA. Graduated from Basic Electronics School Class 11-85 on April 24, 1985. Attended the Telephone and Switchboard Repair Course at MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, CA and graduated in Class 8-85 on November 26, 1985. Completed Combat Skills Course 15-86 at the Northern Training Area in Okinawa, Japan. Attended and completed the Communication Non-Commissioned Officers Course at Camp Lejeune, NC on May 15, 1987. SPECIAL HONORS: While serving in the United States Marine Corps, Aaron has been awarded the Navy Achievement Medal, the United States Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal on two occasions, the Navy Sea Service Deployment ribbon on two occasions, three Meritorious Mast certificates, two Letters of Appreciation, and one Certificate of Appreciation. Aaron was also promoted to the rank of Sergeant, and held a Rifle Expert 4th Award badge. In the final act of military service Aaron received an Honorable Discharge.
Within the private sector Aaron has been awarded the 1998 Nortel Networks Public Carrier Networks Presidents Award of Excellence for Customer Value and Loyalty. In October 2000 Aaron received the Nortel Networks Top-Tier Pride Award for leading by example within Nortel Networks Global Customer Care Services. Aaron also received the Outstanding Quality Award in 1998 from Ameritech.
EXPERIENCE: Upon completion of recruit training at MCRD San Diego, CA. and technical training at Twentynine Palms, CA., Aaron received orders to report to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force Atlantic, Camp Lejeune, NC. in December 1985. While at 1st Battalion, 8th Marines Aaron was billeted as a telephone technician within the Communications Platoon and was the rank of Corporal. In January 1986 Aaron was transferred back to Twentynine Palms, CA with an advance party in preparation for the battalions Combined Arms Exercise on the training ranges at Twentynine Palms. Upon the completion of the CAX Aaron returned back to Camp Lejeune. In June 1986 Aaron left with a 30 Marine advance party for Camp Schwab in Okinawa, Japan in preparation to the battalions 6 month WESTPAC deployment with the 3rd Marine Division. While in Okinawa Aaron attended the combat skills course at the Northern Training Area in Okinawa, Japan. In September 1986 Aaron departed for the Republic of South Korea Marine Corps base in Pohang, South Korea for three weeks of training. Upon completion of training at Pohang Aaron was then transferred with the battalion to a training camp close to the DMZ in South Korea in preparation for the Bear Hunt military exercises. Upon completion of the military exercises in South Korea Aaron transferred back to Camp Schwab, Okinawa, Japan for a month before shipping back out with the 30 Marine advance party for redeployment to Camp Lejeune, NC with the 2nd Marine Division.
Upon return to the 2nd Marine Division in December 1986 Aaron began another training routine in preparation of the battalions requirements to meet MCCRES standards. During the training routine Aaron also attended the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare training school in Bridgeport, CA for a period of approximately one month. The final test of training at Bridgeport, CA was climbing to an elevation of 9,494 feet. Upon completion of the training at Bridgeport Aaron was transferred back to Camp Lejeune and completed the 25 mile battalion forced march in order to meet MCCRES standards.
Shortly after this 1st Battalion, 8th Marines was assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) as the Ground Combat Element in preparation for a 6 month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea. In January 1988 Aaron deployed with the 26th MEU for the blue/green water workups at Vieques Island, Puerto Rico for approximately three weeks. Upon completion of the blue/green water workups Aaron returned back to Camp Lejeune, NC for final preparations for the Mediterranean Deployment. In March 1988 Aaron deployed with the 26th MEU to the Mediterranean Sea and was embarked on the USS Iwo Jima. During the 6 month deployment Aaron was involved in military exercises and port calls in Spain, France, Monte Carlo, Italy, Tunisia, and Israel. In August 1998 Aaron returned to Camp Lejeune, NC as the 6 month Mediterranean deployment concluded and the battalion was detached from the 26th MEU. In November 1988 Aaron was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
In January 1989 Aaron received orders and transferred to 8th Communications Battalion, 2nd Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Intelligence Group, FMFLant. Aaron was assigned as Assistant Maintenance Chief within the Communications Maintenance Platoon's telephone and switchboard repair section. Aaron remained in this section until February 1990 until being assigned to the S & R section as the Assistant S & R Chief holding a Master Sergeant's billet. In August 1990 Aaron was Honorably Discharged from the Marine Corps at the rank of Sergeant after 6 years of service.
After being Honorably Discharged Aaron began his career evolution within the private sector. During the latter half of 1990 Aaron worked for Executone in St. Paul, MN as a technician. In 1991 Aaron changed employment to work for GOEX Corporation in Janesville, WI. until October, 1992 when he was hired by Nortel Networks.
In October 1992 Aaron was hired by Nortel Networks as a technician assigned to installing the DMS-100 family of digital switches. Aaron worked primarily in the Wisconsin base of operations. In 1994 Aaron began assignments as an in-charge and Site Team Leader on various projects within Wisconsin for Nortel Networks. Beginning in January 1996 Aaron was assigned as acting Operations Site Supervisor for Nortel Networks in the Milwaukee metropolitan area of operations overseeing the day-to-day installation activities of other Nortel Networks technicians and contractors. In November 1996 Aaron was promoted to Operations Site Supervisor and continued his assignment in the management of operations in the Milwaukee metropolitan area. As time progressed and with business changes Aaron eventually was assigned as Operations Site Supervisor for all sites in Wisconsin for the Ameritech and Verizon accounts. Aaron has also been assigned as OSS to projects in New Jersey. After a couple of years the Operations Site Supervisor position was redefined and Aaron was assigned as Operations Coordinator for the Ameritech and Verizon accounts in Wisconsin. In October 2000 Aaron was also assigned to operations supporting the Southern New England Telephone account in Connecticut until August 2002 in addition to his assigned responsibilities in Wisconsin. In February 2002 Aaron was also assigned to operations supporting the Independent Operating Companies providing telecommunications services in Wisconsin along with SBC/Ameritech and Verizon. In 2006 Aaron also assumed operations for the state of Michigan including his continued assignment in Wisconsin. In 2007 Aaron was released from Nortel Networks due to Workforce Restructuring. Starting late 2007 to present, Aaron is performing contract assignments through Zero Chaos for its client Nortel Networks. Aaron is a Installation and Commissioning Tester supporting the OM3500, OME6500, OM5200, and CPL product lines throughout the western region of the United States.
